Rian Johnson Unveils Knives Out 2 Sequel’s Title, Release Date

Knives Out 2 will arrive on Netflix “this holiday season” according to writer-director Rian Johnson, who also shared that the film’s title is Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Johnson announced the new title, and shared a couple of details about the film on Twitter.

Discussing famed detective novelist Agatha Christie as an inspiration, Johnson said: “She was constantly stretching the genre conceptually. Under the umbrella of the whodunnit she wrote spy thrillers, proto-slasher horrors, serial killer hunts, gothic romances, psychological character studies, glam travelogues.” Added Johnson, “When I made Knives Out, that’s what excited me about the prospect of making more mysteries with Daniel [Craig] as Benoit Blanc–to emulate Christie and have every film be like a whole new book, with its own tone, ambition, reason for being.” Check out the teaser Johnson shared, which reveals the sequel’s title.
