If you’re looking to ease the burden on your wallet but still get a nice variety of new games to play on your PC or Steam Deck, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve rounded up the best Steam Summer Sale game deals under $10 that we could find.

While we focused mainly on indie games for this list, there are also some older AAA titles available for bargain prices. Many of these games are discounted to their lowest prices we’ve seen, so there’s never been a better time to pick up these heralded games.

Our list contains a number of wonderful side-scrollers, including Celeste, Hollow Knight, and both Spelunky games. Some fairly recent games–such as Death’s Door and Loop Hero–also found their way onto our list. You’ll probably recognize a lot of these titles, but there are also some games here that haven’t received as much attention as they deserve, such as Tiny Lands, Nexomon: Extinction, and Pawnbarian.

Celeste

Beyond being a stellar platformer, Celeste has an emotional story to tell. As you guide Madeline to the top of Celeste Mountain, you’ll unravel a narrative that’s mysterious, memorable, and moving–that is, if you can make it through its litany of challenging levels. Thankfully, Celeste also has a wonderful assist mode that allows you to the tailor the challenge to your liking.

Death’s Door

Quirky, eye-catching, and innovative–everything you’d expect from a game published by Devolver Digital. Death’s Door plays out like a classic action-RPG, with you hacking and slashing your way through enemies as you try to track down a stolen soul.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen

It’s a bit of an odd game and is starting to show its age, but Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is still a fantastic RPG–especially at this price. You’ll set out on an epic quest that takes you across a sprawling open world, gathering unique NPCs to help fight by your side. A sequel was recently revealed, making now a great time to check out the action.

Hollow Knight

Metroidvanias don’t get much better than this. Hollow Knight puts you up against dozens of deadly, insect-inspired enemies, and the only way to make it out alive is by learning their weaknesses. It also doesn’t hurt to have fast reflexes. Unlockable skills, a chilling art style, and plenty of collectibles make it easy to get lost in its world.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

The iconic KOTOR is discounted to less than four bucks during the Steam Summer Sale. If you’ve yet to check out the old-school RPG, there’s never been a better time.

Mega Man 11

The Blue Bomber made a triumphant return in 2018, bringing his retro platforming action to a decidedly modern new game. You’ll still have to overcome deadly bosses and dastardly level design, but the slick new graphics and gear system help keep things fresh.

Devil May Cry 5

Devil May Cry 5 lets you once again tear through hordes of demons in style. Several playable characters are available, each one bringing unique skills to the battlefield and keeping the fast-paced combat fresh. And if your rig is up to the task, the game looks absolutely stunning with settings turned all the way up.

Mount & Blade: Warband

Work your way from a small band of warriors to an entire army. As you progress through the story, you’ll unlock powerful new gear and make strong alliances that’ll help you when stepping out onto the battlefield. Its real-time action takes some time to master, but few games capture the chaos of battle better than Warband.

Okami HD

Okami was always a gorgeous game, but this HD upgrade only made it more eye-catching. Aside from its striking art style, you’ll be treated to the same Zelda-style action-adventure gameplay that sees you traveling across the land to save it from a mysterious demon.

Spelunky + Spelunky 2

The original Spelunky is listed for less than two bucks, giving you an affordable way to get your platforming fix. If you’re looking for something newer, Spelunky 2 is also discounted to just 10 bucks. It builds on the foundation of the original while adding more enemies, more gear, and a cartoonish new art style.

Stardew Valley

By now everyone knows about Stardew Valley. It has launched on just about every platform available and has seen years of post-launch support. But if you’re yet to buy into the adorable farming game, now is the time–it’s available for just nine bucks. It’s great on Steam Deck, and the PC version is the best thanks to the bounty of available mods.

Gone Home

After returning from an overseas trip, you come home to a house that seems to have been abandoned. That’s the premise of Gone Home, which has you scouring every inch of the deserted home as you try to figure out what happened to your family. It’s an emotional game, and one that forgoes combat and violence for a haunting atmosphere and emotional narrative.

Into the Breach

This one isn’t technically under $10, but at $10.04 it’s worth a mention. Into the Breach is a tactical turn-based strategy game, one that puts you in control of deadly mechs as you fight to save the world. There’s never a shortage of action either, as randomly generated challenges help keep things fresh.

The Witness

As puzzling as it is beautiful, The Witness throws you on a strange island and asks you to figure out what’s going on. A story slowly unravels as you explore your surroundings, but it’s the striking art style and brilliant line puzzles that’ll keep you playing until the end.

Untitled Goose Game

Get up to no good as a mischievous goose in a quaint, unassuming village. Whether you’re stealing items, tearing up gardens, or just honking incessantly, Untitled Goose Game is a hilariously good time.

A Plague Tale: Innocence

A Plague Tale: Innocence follows siblings Amicia and Hugo–the latter of which is plagued by a mysterious disease. The adventure game boasts some of the best graphics on this list, and incredible acting and storytelling help bring its bleak world to life.

What Remains of Edith Finch

What Remains of Edith Finch is an atmospheric adventure game. It sees you exploring the Finch mansion as Edith, who is searching for clues about her family’s mysterious history. There’s a lot to unravel, but its stylish graphics and superb storytelling make What Remains of Edith Finch a must-play title (especially when it can be had for just six bucks).

Loop Hero

Loop Hero is an innovative RPG that throws you into randomly generated levels. After selecting a character and deck of cards, you’ll fight your way through deadly foes and around hazardous obstacles–although, being a roguelike, death is always just a few steps away.

Nexomon: Extinction

Nexomon: Extinction takes a lot of cues from Pokemon. You’ll have hundreds of monsters to capture, dozens of locations to explore, and a turn-based battle system that’s easy to learn but offers surprising depth for experts.

Nidhogg 2

This fast-paced, 2D action game tasks you with trekking across a map filled with hilarious, over-the-top enemies. Learning to parry and honing your reflexes make the game easier, but the quirky sense of humor is impossible to avoid. Nidhogg 2 is even more fun when playing multiplayer alongside friends.

Slay the Spire

Part roguelike, part card game, Slay the Spire has you duking it out with a variety of monsters in turn-based combat. You’ll slowly make your way up the Spire–although every journey is unique, thanks to over 350 playable cards and 50+ combat encounters.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Step into a vivid, 2D world that’s brimming with secrets to discover and bosses to overcome. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a challenging platformer that deftly mixes puzzles and combat with its striking hand-painted art style.

Rez Infinite

Rez Infinite features some slick, stylized graphics and fast-paced gameplay, but it’s the soundtrack that might be the reason you keep playing. Best of all, the wild shooter can be enjoyed as both a traditional gaming experience or in VR for added immersion.

Pawnbarian

This roguelike takes some of the core concepts of chess and applies them to a brutal new puzzle game. You’ll play cards to move your character around the board, with each card offering the movement style of a specific chess piece. It’s a strange concept, but one that works incredibly well and is perfect for quick play sessions.

Tiny Lands

Remember those “Spot the Difference” games from when you were a kid? Tiny Lands takes that concept to a new level, offering stunning, low-poly landscapes for you to examine–with one image slightly different from the second. Zoom in, rotate the image, and do whatever it takes to find every discrepancy across a variety of unique stages.

SteamWorld Dig 2

SteamWorld Dig 2 is a perfect mixture of Minecraft, metroidvania, and Mr. Driller. You’ll explore a 2D underworld filled with treasure, hazards, and platforming sections that’ll put your skills to the test. It also boasts an adorable art style, which brings each of its vibrant biomes to life.

Titanfall 2

Apex Legends might be the most popular game in Respawn’s catalog, but don’t forget about Titanfall 2–which laid the groundwork for much of the battle royale. Titanfall 2 has you piloting gigantic mechs in an attempt to overwhelm the opposition. When you’re not behind the faceplate of a lumbering machine, you can roam the map on foot, making use of a slick parkour system that lets you run across walls, clamber up buildings, and outmaneuver incoming attacks.

Pyre

From the folks behind Bastion and Transistor comes Pyre–a party-based adventure with Supergiant Games’ striking art style. You’ll guide a group of adventurers through a story that changes with your successes and failures, meaning your journey could be very different each time you run through it. There’s also a Versus Mode that lets you face off with your friends in fast-paced combat.
