Here’s Why Guardians Of The Galaxy 3’s Trailer Isn’t Online Yet

Although a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer did make its debut at Comic-Con this past weekend, director James Gunn and Marvel mutually decided not to release the trailer online for the public just yet. The filmmaker explained on Twitter that the trailer’s VFX aren’t ready for “repeated views and close inspection.”

Responding to a fan who wished he could have been present in Hall H to bear witness to the trailer, Gunn replied, “I wish you could have too. But it’s not just Marvel, it’s also me. Although I love the teaser some VFX aren’t where I’d want them to be… remember we didn’t wrap long ago–so you’ll have to wait just a beat! Sorry!”

Even if you couldn’t haven’t been there, GameSpot did get a chance to talk briefly with Gunn about the upcoming third sequel. “It’s an incredibly emotional story,” Gunn said. “Much more mature than the other Guardian stories in a way because, you know, we started making these movies that were 10, 11 years old when they saw the first one, and now they’re 20, 21 years old. The movie has grown up with them.”
